Mount Pleasant School Garden

Work started on the garden in January, with pupils from Mount Pleasant School aided by some pupils from Greenfields School, clearing the neglected area with a vision to create a Sensory Garden with the themes of sight, touch, sound and taste.

Since then spending just two and a half hours a week the Greencare Team have progressively planted up the garden with the help of the children at every stage.

The Result Speaks for itself?
INTERESTED?

The Greencare Team now ask for interest from residents in maintaining the garden through the summer while the potatoes, carrots, parsnips, caulifower, sprouts, carrots, lettuce, onions and garlic grow.

GREENCARE YNYSOWEN
Your Groundwork Greencare team dedicated to the Aberfan, Merthyr Vale and Mount Pleasant area began working in the area in August 2005.

They have carried out a small number of projects but would like YOU to contact them to discuss any environmental projects you would like to become involved in.

The Greencare Team work with the Merthyr Vale Ward Communities First Partnership to help existing local community groups undertake a wide range of environmental improvements. The team would also like to help new groups develop in the area.
